Case Study – Online Study Recruitment

When a pharmaceutical company set out to recruit patients to a clinical trial, the study website played a critical role in communicating about the research program and encouraging participation. I led the development of text for the website that succinctly explained the trial, stayed within regulatory boundaries and encouraged patients to take part. The language had to market the research program as well as perform a screening function to make sure patients who didn’t fit the study criteria could not enrol. The text also needed to be ‘translated’ for English speakers from the US and the UK. The website launched successfully and achieved the communications goal of recruiting study participants into multiple trial sites.
